Za'atar Flatbread
You will need:
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour (unbleached flour)
- 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoons of salt
- 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 ¼ cup warm water for kneading
Knead until smooth, about 5 minutes. Form into a round shape of smooth dough, cover and set aside at room temperature until it doubles in size, about 45 minutes. Divide the dough into round balls (approximately 12) cover and let them rest on a tray for 20 minutes.
Roll each dough to a ¼ inch thick, and shape it into a round shape or any shape of your choice on a greased tray.
Za'atar Mix: 3 tbsp of Organic Za'atar Mix: ground oregano, toasted sesame seeds and organic sumac, mix it with 1 tsp pomegranate molasses and 4 tbsp of organic olive oil.
Spread mix evenly on top of dough. Then bake in a 400 degree oven for 10 minutes on the middle rack.
Broil 1-2 minutes if necessary, for a more golden brown crisp. Enjoy!
